Decommissioned thermal sites retain their transmission connections long after generation stops. No site is under BlueHarbor control at the date of this page.

Portugal is one of the few European markets where abundant renewable generation, Atlantic subsea connectivity, available land and an explicit national policy for data centres coincide.

Energy advantage

Around 79% of Portuguese electricity comes from renewables, with 22.5 GW of installed capacity and some of Europe's lowest solar PPA prices.

Atlantic connectivity

Subsea cable systems make Iberia a first landfall for transatlantic and Africa–Europe traffic, with terrestrial routes east into the European core.

Policy tailwind

The National Data Centre Plan provides for pre-zoned land with approved planning and grid connections, coordinated with the transmission system operator.
